alone in the dark => me at the studio
|
to the left is a screen grab of the game i'm working on "alone in the dark". i hope this game is as cool as i'm imagining it to be. it sure is eating up a huge amount of my time at the moment.
since i'm doing all the heavy lifting for the voice and sound effects for our contract, we've hired a freelancer to help run sessions and edit.
well i just had a kind of flattering moment today at the studio while we were waiting for the next actor to come in to read his lines.
we were chit chatting about this and that and it somehow led me to mention that the first game i did sound for was neverwinter nights 2.
before i could even finish saying "2" he half threw his hands in the air and laughed.
then he says something to the effect of "i play that alot and the sound design is awesome". and then says something to the effect of how he and some friends occasionally compare sounds to that of the various magic spell sfx from nwn2.
i was speechless. the only thing i could say was "thank you".
i shoulda told him to mail a letter of recommendation to blizzard so i can design what frostmourne sounds like when you see it, and pick it up the first time wooot!
on that note: my wow life is going ehh.. my guild is a tad on the weak side for the moment. we only have a handful of players that are properly geared for running these end-game instances. so a lot of my time is spent helping other higher-lvl guildies get better gear. we need a solid 15 people to get into the next raid instance that i need to get into: Karazahn. and in the meantime, i've also started a second character named "ludicrispeed" who is a little less than halfway to lvl 70. his main purpose so far is just to look nice =/
but anyway, "alone in the dark" is due for release in march. no wait, september, no again its may, or.. i mean... july? really its anyone's guess. i have heard all the aforementioned released dates and have seen a build of the game in december that would lead me to believe anything.
i'll be happy if it is released before next year. |

When I first glanced at the first video capture, I thought it was a view of you playing a game.
WOW- is your new character a mage too?

I'm impressed with your accomplishments. Going off to NYC by yourself and pursuring your dream job takes courage. You are definitely moving in the right direction to get to your goal.
