pretty good night
|
i got a call from mbp to set up plasma screens at the "tavern on the green" in central park. the call time was 11:30pm, 10-hour minimum.
oy vay, xmas is coming up, bills are coming up. i'll have to take the money and suck it up. it is $25/hour after all.
after about 3 hours all work was done and i was released. but still a 10-hour minimum. so hooray for that. i'm still getting paid as i write this entry. freelance work is cooler than full-time work. not only that, but while waiting for the crosstown bus a taxi pulled over and yelled through his window about some kinda discount.
"pay me whatever you want to go across town" he said (he was headed that way and wanted help paying for a carwash he just got). i gave him $3 and learned that taxi drivers set their own hours and negotiate all their own prices. most things in ny that are not an established company are negotiable. all in all i'm happy about the way tonight went. |
